The Reservoir Renovation Project
The Friends of Sydney Gardens are fundraising to renovate and restore the two components of the Georgian reservoir at the top of the park: the entrance to the reservoir itself and the entrance to the pumping station. The reservoir predates the park and, at one time, supplied water to the Pulteney Estate, to Laura Place fountain and to the Cleveland Pools.
The Friends have already paid for a new iron bar to be put across the entrance to the reservoir to allow work on clearing the entrance to commence. work will comprise of:

- Repointing and repositioning the huge tufa stones around the tops of the reservoir.
- Clearing the two entrances of all the debris.
- Repairing the steps and brickwork.
- Replacing the wooden fencing with iron railings.
- Putting up an Information Board to let visitors to the park know more about this historic feature of the park.
